Warm Audio Jude-MP Preamp – The Original Sound Techniques "A-Range" Circuit
The Jude-MP is an official collaboration between Sound Techniques and Warm Audio, bringing the exact microphone preamp circuitry from London's historic Trident Studios "A-Range" consoles to studios worldwide. Designed by original console engineer Geoff Frost and built directly from original schematics, Jude-MP preserves the entire discrete signal path, including the dual-discrete 3035 Class-A amplifier and custom-spec CineMag USA transformers.
Console-Grade Components & Hand-Wired Quality
Sound Techniques specified every detail of the Jude-MP design. The carefully hand-wired PCB layout features audio-grade Wima and Nichicon capacitors, carbon resistors, and bespoke CineMag transformers. Warm Audio meticulously manufactures each unit to meet Sound Techniques’ rigorous console-grade standards, capturing the exact sonic character and musical response that defined an era of recording history.
Z-Match Impedance Tone Control
Derived directly from the original Sound Techniques console, the 9-position Z-Match control recreates Geoff Frost’s unique 8-lead impedance-matching circuit. By optimizing the interaction between your microphone and the preamp, it acts as a 9-way tonal selector, allowing engineers to fine-tune gain, response, and color across any vintage or modern microphone.
